Penn v. Jack in the Box — June 2019
Brian Crockett, from Houston, Texas, secured a $1.63M verdict for a victim of a slip and fall outside of a Jack in the Box. After admitting that they caused the fall itself, Jack in the Box’s defense lawyers argued that the plaintiff was not hurt in the fall. They argued that the resulting two surgeries she underwent were due to old age. A Houston jury stepped up and held Jack in the Box accountable.
